Free Talk: The Role of the Healer

Free Talk by Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D.
Tuesday, January, 17, 2012 at 12:15 p.m.
American College of Chinese Medicine, 455 Arkansas St., Room C
San Francisco, CA

The path of service opens a path to the healer which is filled with the unexpected. Surprisingly, the path of service is not a path without its own pitfalls and perils. This is especially true for those who seek to assist others with their own healing. As we become healers, it is imperative to clarify our intentions in engaging in the path of service. Lack of clarity regarding motivation and intention is one of the primary reasons new practitioners fail to gain traction as they begin to practice.

In this talk, Isa will share her insights gained from many years of training and mentoring healers in the modalities of Integrated Energy Medicine, Applied Shamanism and Depth Hypnosis through the Foundation of the Sacred Stream's training programs..

Shamanism is one of the oldest systems in the world for acquiring knowledge and accessing healing. The term Shaman is used to describe the healer, counselor, and spiritual advisor of a community. Shamans, in one form or another, appear in all indigenous cultures, and the practice of shamanism is at the root of many major religions in the world today. In this class we will look at some of the ancient healing techniques of shamanism, and how they are applied in a therapeutic context today.
