Saturday, November 20, 2021
10:00 am Pacific (up to 2 hours)
Khensur Rinpoche Thupten Tenzin returns to Sacred Stream to offer this much needed talk on managing the stress of these difficult times. Rinpoche spent a year with us in 2014 during which time he was appointed the prestigious position of Abbot of Gyuto Tantric Monastery in Dharamsala by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Having finished his tenure there, we are pleased to have him back for this special event to share his wisdom. Proceeds will go to support the building of the library for Dokhang Khangtsen at Gaden Shartse Monastery.
Khensur Rinpoche was born high in the Himalayan valley of Spiti. At the age of 8 he took his vows as a monk. He completed his studies in Psychology, Buddhist Philosophy, Debate, Metaphysics and Monastic Discipline at Gaden Shartse Monastery in South India, where he was part of the same house, or Khangtsen, as revered scholar and teacher, Dr. Thupten Jinpa, who he counts among his esteemed teachers. Upon receiving the highest degrees as a Geshe Lharampa, Rinpoche began teaching and became known throughout the world for his profound understanding and mastery of Buddhist Philosophy. In 2014, he became the Abbott of Gyuto Tantric Monastery, one of the most revered institutions in the Geluk tradition and where His Holiness and other high lamas have studied.
Please note, this event will be between one and a half to two hours in length depending on questions. Please plan accordingly.
