In these challenging times, it can be difficult to maintain optimism. Many of us find ourselves with compassion fatigue, even during this celebratory holiday time. In this inspiring talk, Geshe Pema Dorjee will offer insights on how to maintain joy and generate compassion even in the most trying circumstances. Drawing from his own experience as a young child escaping the Chinese occupation of Tibet, as well as his experience as a monk aiding the poor and disenfranchised, he will offer ways of navigating difficulty and transforming it into energy and joyful engagement.

Geshe Pema Dorjee is a world-renowned Tibetan teacher and activist who has worked tirelessly to assist the orphaned, homeless and exploited children of the Tibetan diaspora and the Nepali earthquake. He has spearheaded numerous projects to help those in need and has built medical facilities, community centers, orphanages and more on the very modest funds he raises from supporters around the world. He was the head of the Dharmsala Children’s Village for 17 years and has been charged with the restoration of the Bodong tradition of Tibetan Buddhism by H.H. Dalai Lama. Proceeds from the talk will go to support Pema Dorjee’s ongoing efforts to rebuild infrastructures in Nepal, particularly for homeless children, after the devastating earthquake in 2015.
