In this illuminating talk, esteemed author, scholar, and longtime translator for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Thupten Jinpa, Ph.D., traces the arc of the Buddha’s journey—from the comforts of palace life, through the trials of renunciation, to the ultimate realization of enlightenment. The Buddha’s life emerges as a powerful model for inner transformation, offering timeless guidance in cultivating awareness, wisdom, and compassion.

This talk serves as an introduction to In the Footsteps of the Buddha: A Virtual Pilgrimage, a five-part course led by Khensur Rinpoche Thupten Tenzin, which brings to life the sacred sites where the Buddha walked, taught, and awakened. Jinpa’s reflections will provide spiritual context for these places and illuminate how the Buddha’s path can inform and inspire our own.

A Q&A with Jinpa will follow the talk.

All proceeds will benefit the monks of Gaden Shartse Dokhang Khangtsen.
