In this advanced workshop, students will learn to recognize and resolve soul loss and guide souls in the Middle World—two powerful healing practices found in shamanic cultures across the globe. In shamanism, the spirit is understood to reside both within the body and beyond it. When a person experiences emotional or physical trauma, the shaman addresses the resulting wounds not only on a psychological or physical level but also at the level of the soul. Soul loss, a condition that may arise from traumatic events, can manifest as depression, anxiety, panic, or even auto-immune disorders. Soul Retrieval is the process of healing this injury to the spirit and restoring wholeness and vitality.
Students will also be introduced to the Guiding of Souls, a practice common to most indigenous cultures that expands one’s vision and ability to engage with spirits beyond the veil of death. This aspect of the training develops deeper capacity to support those who have died or are in transition, and to navigate the unseen realms with safety and integrity. The workshop also examines how soul loss affects families and communities, and how healing at this level can contribute to broader restoration and balance.
Through immersive training, students will deepen their understanding of traditional and Applied Shamanic methods, engage in hands-on practice, and receive healing themselves. Counseling professionals and healing practitioners will find these tools especially valuable in working with clients who have experienced trauma. This course offers a profound opportunity to engage in deeper levels of service, insight, and transformation.

“As a Marriage Family Therapist, I’ve come up against the limits of Western Psychology as it pertains to PTSD, depression and anxiety, habits, and behavior patterns that don’t seem to respond to any treatment. The framework presented in the Soul Retrieval course gave me a new way to think about these kinds of issues and gave me hope that there are ways to heal traumas that once seemed irreparable. This is truly profound work.” – MaryAnne M.
